The Summer Acoustic Series comes to Onatah Coffee starting on July 7.

Seasonal sounds are coming to 麻豆社国产thanks to the new Summer Acoustic Series at Onatah Coffee starting on July 7.

Squamish鈥檚 Danielle Sweeney, who also fronts Lovecoast, decided to put the series together to help continue to build the local music scene and create a new spotlight for musicians in town.

The shows run from 5 to 7 p.m. on every Tuesday starting on July 7 and running until Aug. 25. Shows are by donation and all proceeds go back to the performers.

鈥淚鈥檓 doing this just for fun and to support local and touring bands coming through town,鈥 Sweeney said. 鈥淪lowly but surely the music scene in 麻豆社国产is growing.鈥

The series kicks off with Vancouver鈥檚 Connor Roff on July 7, followed by Vancouver鈥檚 Alexandria Maillot on July 14. The July 21 show features David Vertesi from Vancouver band Hey Ocean, Michael Bernard Fitzgerald from Calgary and Twin Bandit from East Vancouver.

Relatively new local band Brackendale performs on Aug. 4, with Squamish鈥檚 Will Ross hitting the stage on Aug. 18 and Badgerchild tentatively scheduled for Aug. 25. Also appearing is: Canmore鈥檚 Layten Kramer on July 28 and Vancouver鈥檚 Gina Loes on Aug. 11.

Onatah Coffee is located in the Spectacle Building on Tantalus Road. For more information on the series, visit www.facebook.com/onatahcoffee.
