Crews are working on installing a new culvert for salmon at the 麻豆社国产Spit.
The Spit has been blamed by conservationists as a major contributor to the decline of chinook salmon in the 麻豆社国产area.
The man-made structure funnels juvenile fish out into Howe Sound before they have a chance to mature.
Before then, conservationists say the fish would stay in the estuary and grow to an appropriate size before venturing out into deeper waters.
To this end, there have been efforts to put in culverts and, eventually, re-align the Spit altogether.
Local conservationist John Buchanan managed to snap some shots and video of the work being done on Sept. 7.
