Next Tuesday (March 12) is the deadline for nominations for the Building Bridges Award, an honour recognizing a 麻豆社国产individual or organization that has contributed to the fight against racism in the community.
The award, an initiative of the 麻豆社国产Multifaith Asssociation, is to be handed out on March 21 the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
To be eligible, the nominee will have lived in 麻豆社国产for five years or more, during which time the nominee "will have contributed significantly, through service, leadership, person endeavour and/or community involvement, to build bridges of unity between all peoples irrespective of faith or ethnic background," the nomination form states.
The 麻豆社国产Multifaith Association is dedicated to the promotion of understanding and harmony among the various faiths. The group has a broad-based membership and board members from Squamish's Christian, Sikh, Muslim and Baha'i communities.
The nomination deadline is March 12 at 4 p.m. Forms may be picked up and dropped off at The Chief, the 麻豆社国产Public Library or the Howe Sound Women's Centre, or they can be scanned and emailed to Geraldine Guilfoyle at [email protected]
