NEW YORK (AP) 鈥 The science-fiction sequel the doomed fairy tale and the Munich Olympics drama are among the 10 films nominated by the Producers Guild for its top award, the Darryl F. Zanuck Award.
The Producers Guild announced its nominees Thursday after delaying due to the . The group also extended its voting period to allow members affected by the fires more time to vote.
The 10 films nominated are: 鈥淎nora,鈥 鈥淭he Brutalist,鈥 鈥淎 Complete Unknown,鈥 鈥淐onclave,鈥 鈥淒une: Part Two,鈥 鈥淓milia P茅rez,鈥 鈥淎 Real Pain,鈥 鈥淪eptember 5,鈥 鈥淭he Substance" and 鈥淲icked.鈥
The guild's award is closely watched as an Oscar prognosticator. Like the film academy, the Producers Guild selects 10 movies for the equivalent of its best picture prize, and it likewise uses a preferential ballot to pick a winner. Winners will be announced at an untelevised ceremony in Los Angeles on Feb. 8. The guild will contribute a portion of the proceeds from the awards to a fund created to support producers affected by the wildfires.
